1ST AUGUST, 2021

Today is set aside to raise awareness about the world’s second most common cancer, which is also one of the leading causes of cancer death in both men and women. The day’s major goal is to raise awareness about the behaviours and causes that can contribute to lung cancer.

Lung cancer, like any other cancer, has a proclivity for spreading throughout the body. Most people are aware that smoking is the single most important risk factor for lung cancer, additional factors that are less well-known include the environment and heredity. Lung cancer has been associated with radon, asbestos, arsenic, beryllium, and uranium exposure in the environment. A history of cancer in another part of the body, age, family history, radiation to the chest area, and lung illnesses like COPD all raise the risk of lung cancer.

NORTH AMERICAN CYSTIC FIBROSIS CONFERENCE (NACFC) 2024

North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC) 2024 Day 2 Yet another exciting day at NACFC! I started with an interactive session on some research procedures, which I found helpful for my recruiting work and the data's impact on the population. I learned a lot from the CFTR genetics session, which aligns with one of my research group's projects, and the plenary session on The Journey to Understand and Advance Research in CFRD. I wrapped up the day by networking with colleagues at Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center  #nacfc #nacfc2024 #cf #cysticfibrosis

NORTH AMERICAN CYSTIC FIBROSIS CONFERENCE (NACFC) 2024

North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC) 2024 Day 3 The past few days at The 38th Annual North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC) have been inspiring. I've gained a deeper understanding of CF, CF care, cutting-edge research, and, most importantly, the lived experiences of people living with cystic fibrosis and their families. I am leaving this session with more inspiration to serve people living with CF with my work. Thank you to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for this invaluable opportunity to learn, connect, and be more inspired. #nacfc #nacfc2024 #cf #cysticfibrosis
