This annual global event strives to raise overdose awareness and decrease the stigma associated with drug overdose mortality. It also acknowledges the grief experienced by families and friends who have lost loved ones or whose relatives have suffered lasting damage as a result of a drug overdose.

This is the largest annual campaign in the world to end overdose, honor those who have died without stigma, and acknowledge the suffering of those left behind.

Purple is worn to support International Overdose Awareness Day and to encourage open, informed discussions about drug addiction and overdoses. It's not just a time to ponder; it's also a time to act.

Female Medical Doctors and Fashion

Female Medical Doctors And Fashion A Standard Dress Code Is Relative Photo credit: istock Each professional’s clothing style has a significant impact on their presentation, reliability, and look. Formal healthcare personnel who aren’t dressed professionally must protect and defend their professional demeanour. The white coat has long been regarded as a medical doctor’s badge.  Some patients still prefer a white coat, according to various research. Professionalism, identity, and hygiene were among the reasons stated (yet white coats may be a source of, rather than a barrier to cross-infection). While delivering patient care, wearing professional clothes (i.e., a white coat with more formal clothes ) may have a positive impact on trust and confidence-building in the medical encounter. One of the most essential things in instilling a patient’s confidence in the doctors is their appearance. In terms of attire, the white coat was deemed to be the most suitable, followed by surgic...

ROAD TO MASTERS IN THE US

jhsph.edu  ROAD TO MASTERS PROGRAM IN THE US   The first thing is deciding where you want to further your education. For me, I believe the United States stands out for various reasons   1.  Their institutions/universities are among the best in the world 2.  Unlike institutions in the UK, you do not have to pay tuition upfront. In  fact  in my case, I had come to the US, started my program and was way into my program before payment was required to register for courses for next term. I only paid acceptance fee back in Nigeria. 3.  There are scholarships available in most institutions, but they are quite competitive. Do due diligence and research on the institutions you are applying to. This is a link of available scholarships in some institutions.  4.  In lieu of scholarships there are loans available which do not require a co-signer/guarantor  like  Prodigy finance  and  Mpower     Depending on when you ar...

NORTH AMERICAN CYSTIC FIBROSIS CONFERENCE (NACFC) 2024

North American Cystic Fibrosis Conference (NACFC) 2024 Day 2 Yet another exciting day at NACFC! I started with an interactive session on some research procedures, which I found helpful for my recruiting work and the data's impact on the population. I learned a lot from the CFTR genetics session, which aligns with one of my research group's projects, and the plenary session on The Journey to Understand and Advance Research in CFRD. I wrapped up the day by networking with colleagues at Johns Hopkins Cystic Fibrosis Center  #nacfc #nacfc2024 #cf #cysticfibrosis
