Misconceptions and misinformation about this disease and how to prevent it has been around for centuries. This year's theme focuses on disseminating facts about rabies rather than instilling fear of the disease.
Facts are critical for increasing public knowledge, preventing, and educating people about rabies, its hazards, and how to avoid it.
People are afraid of vaccination because of rabies myths, and they are afraid to get their animals vaccinated. They also believe in ineffective rabies treatments.
On World Rabies Day, there are a few things you can do:
•Learn facts about rabies, its hazards, and how to prevent it
•Apply the facts you've learnt
•Share the facts with others
