The goal is to promote young women\"s understanding of breast health, raise breast cancer awareness and encourage them to have mammograms with the help of their families and friends. The emphasis is on teamwork since no one should combat cancer alone.  To honour the month, a pink ribbon is worn.  Every year in October, you are reminded to have a mammogram screen for breast cancer.  If you notice any changes to your breasts, have them checked out regardless of how small they may look!  It\"s not too late to book that appointment! WORLD POLIO DAY

Poliomyelitis, usually known as polio, is a life-threatening viral disease that only affects humans and spreads through contaminated food and water. Although there is no cure, there are safe and effective vaccines available. Polio can be avoided by getting vaccinated. When a child receives multiple doses of the polio vaccine, he or she is virtually always protected for the rest of their lives. As a result, the polio eradication approach relies on immunizing every child to avoid infection. Photo credit: Awareness Days
