Every year on the second Thursday in March, World Kidney Day is commemorated. The goal of the day is to increase awareness about the importance of our kidneys to our general health, as well as to decrease the burden of kidney disease and its health-related problems globally.
The focus is on preventing the development and progression of kidney diseases, increasing kidney health education and awareness, and addressing the knowledge gap at all levels of kidney care. Awareness of the risk factors for Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), screening of at-risk individuals, and encouragement of protective behaviour are all part of the equation.
The ultimate goal is to keep everyone's kidneys in good condition.
