On this day, we honour victims of drug overdose who have lost their lives as well as those who have overcome their addictions with the support of loved ones, pay tribute to the departed's family and friends, and reaffirm our goal to put an end to overdose and its consequences. It is indeed time to take action, which includes educating people about the dangers of drug overdose, sharing valuable understanding about the variety of assistance programmes available to those struggling with drug addiction, and emphasising to those currently in recovery how much they are appreciated.
The time has come to show up and unite in opposition against overdose tragedies in the future.
You can wear a purple ribbon to show solidarity for Overdose Awareness Day.
