It is observed annually to raise awareness about rabies prevention and to celebrate advancements in the fight against this dreadful illness.
This theme's One Health section has been created to guarantee that everyone see themselves as a vital partner who can exert influence and contribute to the eradication of rabies.
Today, safe and effective human and animal vaccines are among the crucial instruments available to reduce human rabies mortality, while community engagement in successful rabies prevention is the key to success. We have a specific objective to pursue, and even though we have achieved a lot of progress, we must keep cooperating to reach the target of Zero deaths by 2030.
Therefore, it is essential to collaborate with stakeholders, advocates, and individuals at the community, municipal, national, and international levels in order to rebuild and expand health systems and rabies control programmes. Rabies can be wiped out through working together, banding together, and involving local communities.
