Water is essential for life and has numerous uses. The goal of this day is to raise awareness of the water and sanitation crisis and motivate people to take action. The Earth's water supply is maintained by the natural recycling process, but the rising demand for clean water and the growing human population is posing significant threats to the sustainability of water resources.
The theme urges the general public to change the way they utilise water in their everyday activities. This will make it easier to provide everyone with a sufficient supply of clean water. Progress on this important global problem is being hampered by dysfunction throughout the water cycle process. It would be very helpful if the government, non-governmental organisations, and the general public all made voluntary commitments aimed at achieving the water and sanitation goals that have been set globally quickly. We need everyone to take action to achieve this rapid and radical change. Even the slightest effort will have an impact.
